Here is an old cowboy oil sketch, an oil work in progress, and some sketch pages from this weeks work day. Ray, you are a bastard, I just spent almost 40 bucks on 2 tubes of paint.......you and your oily ways.......

Dude, that sword pommel looks like the horn resounding form "Eric the Viking". Nice sketches, is that a purple gel pen?

That oil sketch is nice, I thought you would naturally gravitate toward that style. On that note, conceptart.org has a video from Greg Manchess that you might like. It's not super great, but if you have an extra 30 bucks I think you could spend it in worse ways.

Also, thanks for the words of encouragement. It's funny you said I found a good cross between tight and loose, because when I was watching the Manchess video I realized all my teachers wanted me be more like him (larger size, thicker paint, looser handling). Again, thanks.

$40 bucks for two tubes of paint ?! Where the hell do you shop for oil paints ?! Armani?! for $40 dollars I buy two sets big tubes of paints. Nice work so far man . You should really try and push the graphic sense of your designs . you are really good at big and bold shape arrangements and I think the addtion of big and bold vaule arrangements would compliment it very nicely . Check out the work of frank brangwyn and massimo carnevale, those guys are awesome with that .
